College Connections Virtual Family Sessions: College Admissions, Unpacked! (Session 2)

Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at 12:00 PM until 1:00 PMEastern Standard Time UTC -05:00

College Connections is a middle school outreach program creating a pathway from middle school to all different types of higher education (e.g., public, private, liberal arts, HBCU, technical, community college, etc). The family sessions introduce parents and guardians of middle school students to the college research and application process, by sharing information and strategies to implement at an early age that will support students through their journey to higher education.

Building on Session 1’s focus on college readiness and fit, this session gives families a closer look at how the college admissions process really works. We’ll unpack what colleges consider when reviewing applications, from academics and course selection to extracurricular involvement, writing, and personal fit. We’ll also explore how early habits, curiosity, and self-discovery can prepare students for success in high school and beyond. Together, we’ll address common admissions myths and highlight meaningful ways families can support their students along the way.

Registration is no longer available because the registration deadline has passed.
